| Women and children empowerment |
|
| SEEDS during the current year have identified 200 women from the category of widows, abandoned, deserted & isolated, from 10 backward villages of Erumaipatti Block in Namakkal District of Tamilnadu. Economic status being an irrefutable indicator of any development/empowerment, it was decided that these women who hail from and who are dependent on agriculture, are trained in the value addition of agriculture/millet based products and start a group based enterprise, so as to have regular employment and increased income to their families and to have a dignified social living. The motivational and training part of different products has been completed and the actual business part of the project will take off soon, on completion of certain legal formalities. |
